Actor Arun Govil, best known for his iconic portrayal of Lord Ram in the television series “Ramayan,” recently participated in a scholarship distribution ceremony at the Meerut Institute of Engineering & Technology (MIET). The event was part of the institute’s Special Scholarship Scheme for Financially Weak Meritorious Students.
In the Instagram post shared from his official account @siyaramkijai, Govil can be seen lighting the lamp in the ceremony. Accompanying the image, Govil wrote in Hindi: “आज Meerut Institute of Engineering & Technology में Special Scholarship Scheme for Financially Weak Meritorious Students के अंतर्गत छात्रों को छात्रवृत्ति चेक वितरित किए। प्रतिभा और परिश्रम को सम्मानित करना ही सच्चा सामाजिक निवेश है। जय श्री राम”
Translated to English, the caption reads: “Today, scholarship checks were distributed to students under the Special Scholarship Scheme for Financially Weak Meritorious Students at Meerut Institute of Engineering & Technology. Honoring talent and hard work is the true social investment. Jai Shri Ram.”
Govil has been increasingly visible in various community and educational initiatives in the Meerut region. His recent activities demonstrate his dedication to social causes beyond his acting career.
Just prior to this event, Govil inaugurated a Computer Education Center at Sanatan Dharma Saraswati Shishu Mandir Inter College in Kankarkheda, Meerut. During that inauguration, he emphasized the importance of technology in empowering the new generation, describing it as “an important step in technically empowering the new generation” and adding that “the confluence of education and technology is a strong foundation for nation-building.”
Govil has also been actively participating in civic discussions in Meerut. He recently attended a Meerut Municipal Corporation board meeting where he presented a proposal for ‘One Nation, One Election’ which was unanimously passed. The actor described this initiative as “an important step in the direction of the country’s economic situation, development, and strengthening democracy.”
In recent years, beyond his artistic endeavors, Govil has been increasingly involved in social and political activities. He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in March 2021 and has since been active in various community initiatives, particularly in his home state of Uttar Pradesh.
Govil’s recent social media posts show his active involvement in various community service activities. He participated in a free health check-up camp organized jointly by the Vaishya Samaj, Meerut Metropolis, and Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi. The objective of this welfare effort was to provide quality health facilities and appropriate counseling to the general public.
Through these various activities, Arun Govil continues to use his public influence to support education, health, and civic improvement initiatives, particularly in the Meerut region.
