Veteran actor Anupam Kher recently took to Instagram to share his devotion to Lord Hanuman with his followers. The post, featuring a striking image of the deity, was accompanied by the caption “जय बजरंग बली! ❤️🔉🙏” (Jai Bajrang Bali), expressing reverence to the Hindu god known for strength, devotion, and courage.
Kher’s Spiritual Side Amid Professional Journey
This spiritual post comes during a particularly active period for the 70-year-old actor, who has been extensively promoting his upcoming directorial venture “Tanvi The Great.” The film marks Kher’s return to direction after a 23-year hiatus since his directorial debut with “Om Jai Jagdish” in 2002.
In one of his recent posts about the film, Kher reflected on his journey as a director: “मुझे 23 साल लग गए दोबारा Director की टीशर्ट पहनने में! पहली फ़िल्म Om Jai Jagdish डायरेक्ट करना मुझे अच्छा लगा था। मेरा जो सामर्थ था। मैंने उस हिसाब से फ़िल्म बनाई। पर उस फ़िल्म की कहानी मेरी नहीं थी।” (It took me 23 years to wear the Director’s t-shirt again! I enjoyed directing my first film Om Jai Jagdish. I made that film according to my capabilities. But that film’s story wasn’t mine.)
He continued to express how personal this new project is to him: “‘तन्वी द ग्रेट’ की कहानी मेरे दिल और आत्मा से निकली है।” (The story of ‘Tanvi The Great’ has emerged from my heart and soul.)
Tanvi The Great: A Personal Project
Kher has been actively sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses of “Tanvi The Great” on his social media. He recently announced the film’s music lineup, revealing that legendary composer MM Keeravani has created the soundtrack, with singers including Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Vishal Mishra, and several new talents.
“I spent almost a year with the Great #MMKeeravani sir and recorded all the songs of the film before we even started shooting,” Kher shared in another post, highlighting the importance of music in the project.
The film also stars “Game of Thrones” actor Iain Glen alongside Kher and features what the actor describes as an inspiring story about determination, courage, and being “different but not less.”
