Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has announced the release of the complete soundtrack album for his upcoming film ‘Ground Zero.’ The actor shared the news through his Instagram account, inviting fans to “Hit play on the sound of Ground Zero,” confirming that the full album is now available across music platforms.
The Instagram post features promotional artwork for the film’s soundtrack, showcasing the project’s military theme with imagery suggesting the film’s focus on border security forces and combat operations.
The ‘Ground Zero’ album brings together an impressive lineup of musical talent from the Indian film and music industry. The project features contributions from renowned playback singers including Jubin Nautiyal, Sonu Nigam, Afsana Khan, Vishal Mishra, and Divya Kumar.
On the composition front, the album showcases work from Tanishk Bagchi, Rohan-Rohan, and Sunny Inder. The lyrics have been penned by a collective of writers including Vayu, Irshad Kamil, Kumaar, and Rashmi Virag – representing some of the most prominent lyricists in contemporary Hindi film music.
‘Ground Zero’ appears to be a war drama centered around India’s Border Security Force (BSF) operations. The film stars Emraan Hashmi alongside Sai Tamhankar and Zoya Hussain in prominent roles. Tejas Deoskar directs the project, with production backing from industry heavyweights Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the Excel Entertainment banner.
The film is scheduled for theatrical release on April 25, 2025, as revealed in Emraan’s previous social media posts promoting the project.
In a significant cultural moment, ‘Ground Zero’ recently held a special premiere in Srinagar, Kashmir. According to Emraan’s social media, this marked the “first Red carpet movie screening after 38 years in Srinagar” – a historic event for the region. The special screening was organized to honor BSF soldiers and officers, highlighting the film’s themes of military service and national security.
Prior to the full album release, the team had been building anticipation by releasing individual tracks. One notable song, “So Lene De,” was promoted with the tagline “He won the fight, but not without scars,” suggesting themes of sacrifice and the psychological toll of combat on soldiers.
The film’s music appears to align with its patriotic themes, with Emraan previously describing it as “not just music, it’s a war cry” when announcing the partnership with Zee Music Company for the soundtrack.
For Emraan Hashmi, ‘Ground Zero’ represents a continuation of his evolution as an actor. Having begun his career with romantic and thriller films that earned him the nickname “Serial Kisser” in Bollywood, Hashmi has gradually transitioned to more diverse and serious roles.
The release of the full soundtrack comes after an extensive promotional campaign that included teaser releases, trailer launches, and individual song releases. The film’s marketing has consistently emphasized its military themes with taglines like “Pehredaari bahaut ho gayi, ab prahaar hoga” (The time for vigilance is over, now it’s time to strike) and “Ab Prahaar Hoga” (Now it’s time to attack).
With the complete album now available and the film slated for release later this month, ‘Ground Zero’ looks poised to deliver both musical and cinematic impact, bringing attention to stories of India’s border security operations through the combined power of music and film.
