With just seven days remaining until its theatrical release, Emraan Hashmi’s upcoming film ‘Ground Zero’ has officially begun its countdown. The actor took to Instagram to announce the final week before audiences can experience what appears to be an intense military thriller set in Kashmir.
In the promotional image shared by Hashmi, the film’s title ‘Ground Zero’ is prominently displayed against what appears to be a gritty, military-themed backdrop, reinforcing the film’s serious tone and subject matter.
From the promotional materials released so far, ‘Ground Zero’ promises to tell “the untold story of a mission that changed Kashmir forever.” The film’s tagline “Ab Prahaar Hoga” (Now it’s time to strike) suggests a narrative focused on military operations and counter-terrorism efforts in the region.
According to earlier posts from Hashmi and the film’s team, the story revolves around what they describe as “one of India’s most dangerous missions.” The film appears to highlight the bravery and sacrifices made by soldiers, particularly those from the Border Security Force (BSF).
In a significant development, the film recently made history with the first Red carpet movie screening after 38 years in Srinagar. This special screening was dedicated to honoring BSF soldiers and their officers, highlighting the film’s connection to real-life security operations in Kashmir.
As part of the film’s promotion, the team recently released a song titled “So Lene De.” The track appears to explore the emotional toll on soldiers, with promotional material describing it with the line “A soldier’s courage is seen but not his scars.” The film’s music has been described in promotional posts as “not just music” but “a war cry,” suggesting a soundtrack designed to evoke patriotic emotions and highlight the experiences of military personnel.
Besides Emraan Hashmi leading the project, ‘Ground Zero’ features an ensemble cast including Sai Tamhankar, Zoya Hussain, and Lalit Prabhakar. The film is directed by Tejas Deoskar and brings together several prominent production houses.
With its release date set for April 25, ‘Ground Zero’ is positioned as a significant addition to the growing catalog of films exploring India’s military operations and national security challenges.
