Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna has taken a strong stance on terrorism following the recent attack in Pahalgam Valley, reversing his previous belief that terrorism has no religious affiliation. In an emotional Instagram post, the actor expressed his outrage at what he described as a massacre of innocent tourists.
“Terrorism Does Have A Religion”
In his post, written in Hindi, Khanna states: “I used to understand and say that terrorism has no religion. But after seeing and hearing about yesterday’s massacre in Pahalgam Valley, I have come to the conclusion that terrorism does have a religion. And that happens when someone says that if you are not of our religion, then you are a kafir (non-believer).”
The actor, best known for playing Bhishma Pitamah in “Mahabharat” and the titular role in “Shaktimaan,” highlighted what he believes is the connection between terrorist acts and religious extremism. He specifically mentioned how the attackers targeted tourists because they belonged to a different faith.
Details Of The Attack
Khanna described the attack as taking a “monstrous form” when terrorists opened fire on unarmed tourists in broad daylight. He wrote: “Yesterday it took a monstrous form when they committed unholy acts in the holy afternoon sun by shooting at unarmed tourists because they were not of their religion.”
The actor emphasized the severity of the incident, asking, “What could be more disgusting and shameful than this?” He also pointed to Pakistan as the source of terrorism, stating that “its roots have grown in our neighboring country, Pakistan,” and that they have been trying to infiltrate India for years.
Connection To Pakistan
In his post, Khanna made direct allegations about Pakistan’s role in fostering terrorism. He wrote that it has been proven multiple times that terrorism’s roots have grown in Pakistan, and they have been attempting to infiltrate India for years.
The veteran actor’s strong words reflect his deep concern about cross-border terrorism and its impact on innocent lives in India. His post suggests that he sees a clear pattern of religiously motivated violence originating from across the border.
