Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda recently had a significant meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which he described as a “great honour and privilege” in his latest social media post. The actor shared details of their discussion, which centered around Indian cinema’s growing global influence and new government initiatives.

In his Instagram post, Hooda revealed that their conversation covered “the global rise of Indian cinema, the power of authentic storytelling, and the government’s visionary new OTT platform—WAVES—set to amplify Indian voices on the world stage.” This meeting highlights the government’s interest in expanding India’s digital entertainment footprint internationally.

Making the meeting even more special for Hooda was the presence of his mother, Asha Hooda, and sister, Dr. Anjali Hooda. According to Randeep’s post, they also had the opportunity to exchange thoughts with the Prime Minister regarding his initiatives on anti-obesity drive and holistic wellness.

“It was also a proud family moment to be joined by my mother, Asha Hooda and sister, Dr. Anjali Hooda, who also exchanged thoughts with the PM on his initiatives of anti obesity drive and holistic wellness,” Hooda wrote in his caption.

The actor expressed how motivating the meeting was, stating that the Prime Minister’s “pat on the back is a great encouragement to keep doing good work in our respective fields and contributing to the growth of our nation.”

Hooda’s Recent Professional Success

This high-profile meeting comes at a successful time in Randeep Hooda’s career. The actor has been busy promoting his recently released film ‘Jaat’, which hit theaters earlier this month. The action drama, which also stars Sunny Deol, has been receiving positive responses from audiences.

Just days before meeting PM Modi, Hooda was celebrating what he called “International Jaat Day” by visiting his ancestral town of Rohtak in Haryana. He shared on Instagram that he had visited packed theaters screening his new film and enjoyed “delicious home cooked Haryanvi Food and Choorma” at his uncle’s house.

“On #InternationalJatDay went to the Heart of Jaat Land and my ancestral town Rohtak… and what better way than to see packed screens for #Jaat with audiences showering so much of love along with seetis and taalis,” he had posted earlier.

With a career spanning over two decades, Randeep Hooda has established himself as a versatile actor in Indian cinema. His notable performances include roles in Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, Highway, Sarbjit, and the international production Extraction alongside Chris Hemsworth. Hooda received particular praise for his portrayal of Sarabjit Singh in the biographical drama Sarbjit (2016), which earned him several award nominations.

Recently, Hooda also directed and starred in Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, a biographical film on the life of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. The film, which released in March 2024, marked his directorial debut and showcased his expansion into different aspects of filmmaking.

The meeting with PM Modi represents another milestone in Hooda’s career, highlighting his growing influence not just as an actor but as a figure in India’s entertainment industry who is contributing to discussions about the nation’s cultural representation globally.

The mention of WAVES, the government’s new OTT platform, suggests an important development in India’s digital content strategy, potentially creating new opportunities for storytellers and content creators across the country to reach international audiences.

As Hooda continues to balance his acting career with these high-level engagements, his involvement in discussions about Indian cinema’s global presence demonstrates the evolving relationship between Bollywood and government initiatives to promote Indian culture worldwide.
