Sanjay Dutt has announced the release of a new song titled ‘Mahakaal Mahakaali’ from his upcoming film ‘The Bhootnii’. The Bollywood veteran shared the news through an Instagram post featuring a dramatic still from the song, showcasing intense imagery with supernatural elements.
Dutt dropped the powerful track by sharing, “The divine has descended. Feel the wrath, the rhythm, the roar. #MahakaalMahakaali from The Bhootnii — OUT NOW!” Dutt captioned the post, inviting fans to experience the track which appears to blend devotional themes with horror elements.
The Instagram image shows what appears to be a dark, atmospheric scene likely from the music video, maintaining the supernatural tone that the film seems to be embracing.
‘The Bhootnii’ is positioned as a horror-comedy featuring Sanjay Dutt alongside Mouni Roy, Sunny Singh, and Palak Tiwari. The film was initially scheduled to release on April 18, 2025, but has now been pushed to May 1, 2025, as confirmed by Dutt in an earlier post.
“Insaan mohabbat wali date fix kar sakta hai, bhootnii ke aane ki nahi… woh kab aayegi, kaise aayegi, yeh sirf wahi jaanti hai!” (A human can fix a date for love, but not when a ghost will arrive… when she’ll come, how she’ll come, only she knows!), Dutt had posted, announcing the new release date.
The film’s trailer, which was released in late March, showcased what Dutt described as a “massy horror ride.” In his promotional posts, Dutt has been positioning his character as someone who even supernatural entities fear: “Jinse Bhoot, Pret, Jin aur Pishaach bhi jaaenge darr ke bhaag, Baba lagayenge sabki waat!” (Even ghosts, spirits, genies, and demons will run away in fear, Baba will destroy them all!)
The newly released song ‘Mahakaal Mahakaali’ appears to incorporate divine themes, possibly drawing from Lord Shiva and Goddess Kali, as suggested by the title. This aligns with Dutt’s personal devotion to Lord Shiva, which he frequently expresses on social media.
For Sanjay Dutt, ‘The Bhootnii’ represents another addition to his diverse filmography. The 64-year-old actor, who has battled personal and legal troubles throughout his career, has maintained his position as one of Bollywood’s most recognizable faces.
The film also features digital content creator Bhuvan Bam (known as BeYouNick), Aasif Khan, and Sidhant Sachdev, suggesting a blend of traditional and new-age entertainment approaches.
