Popular South Indian actress Jyothika has begun her new year on a spiritual note by visiting two of India’s most revered Shakti peethas – Kolhapur Mahalakshmi in Maharashtra and Kamakhya in Assam. The actress shared this update with her followers through an Instagram post, expressing gratitude for the auspicious start to her year.

In her post, Jyothika wrote, “Blessed to have visited the sacred Shakti peethas of Kolhapur Mahalakshmi and Kamakhya during the auspicious new year! Starting my next film… I thank you for your love and blessings always.” The post was accompanied by an image showing the actress and her husband in traditional attire at what appears to be one of the temple locations.

While Jyothika didn’t reveal specific details about her upcoming film project, her mention of “starting my next film” has generated excitement among fans. This would mark another significant addition to her filmography after her successful return to cinema in recent years.

According to her recent social media activities, Jyothika has been quite busy on the professional front. Just days before this announcement, she shared a post about the trailer release of her film “Retro” which features the tagline “A Love that waits, Laughter that maims and a War that liberates.” The film, directed by K Subbaraj, also stars her husband, Suriya, and is scheduled for release on May 1st.

Jyothika has established herself as one of Indian cinema’s most respected actresses. She began her career in the late 1990s and has appeared in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi films. After marrying actor Suriya in 2006, she took a hiatus from acting to focus on family life before making a successful comeback.

She has marked her return to films by choosing strong female-centric roles that often address social issues—a departure from conventional heroine roles in Indian cinema. This careful selection aligns with her values and allows her to balance her family life with her passion for cinema.

In one of her recent posts featuring her husband Suriya, she captioned it, “From my partner in crime, to my partner in success,” highlighting the supportive relationship that has been a cornerstone of both her personal life and professional comeback.

As fans eagerly await details about her upcoming film project, Jyothika continues to inspire with her thoughtful approach to both her spiritual journey and her evolving career in the film industry.
