Manisha Koirala Celebrates Women’s Progress In Nepal At Golf Tournament

Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala recently took to Instagram to highlight the advancing role of women in her native Nepal after attending a women’s golf tournament featuring 60 participants from across the country.
“Slowly and steadily, women in Nepal are marching forward,” wrote Koirala in her post, sharing images of herself at the golf event surrounded by female participants and prominent women leaders. She emphasized how Nepali women now take leadership positions in teaching, business, medicine, engineering, journalism, mountaineering, politics, arts, and sports, all of which are historically dominated by men in the country.
The actress specifically acknowledged several influential Nepali women, including legal expert Sapana Pradhan Malla, Rita Thapa, Sareeta Shri Gyawali, Arshiya Banu, and Pratima Sherpa, who happens to be Nepal’s first female professional golfer.
“These women are true torchbearers, showing what’s possible with hard work, discipline, passion, and the unshakable will to never give up,” Koirala stated. She added that each has “overcome personal battles and emerged victorious, lighting the path for many others to follow.”
Koirala, who recently won a Filmfare Award for her role in Netflix’s “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar,” has maintained strong connections to her Nepali heritage while building her career in Indian cinema since the late 1980s. Earlier this year, the cancer survivor was named an Ambassador for Ovacome, the UK’s ovarian cancer support charity, using her platform to raise awareness about healthcare access.
