Renowned dancer and choreographer Dharmesh Yelande has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Sri Lanka following a successful visit to the island nation. The dance maestro shared a simple post on Instagram, featuring the hashtag “#Srilanka” accompanied by praying hands emojis and the words “thank u,” tagging the International Dance Works Sri Lanka (@idwsrilanka) organization.

This post comes after Dharmesh’s recent trip to Sri Lanka, where he conducted dance workshops organized by International Dance Works Sri Lanka. The choreographer was officially welcomed to the country by the organization just days before, as evidenced by a previous post from IDW Sri Lanka that stated, “Welcome to Sri Lanka @dharmesh0011 Sir!!! Let’s Have a blast.” Before his arrival, Dharmesh had also teased his upcoming Sri Lanka visit with an enthusiastic post saying “#Srilanka” accompanied by a fist emoji and “Get ready,” building anticipation among his fans and followers on the island.

The dance workshop appears to have been a collaborative effort, as fellow dancer Dhanashree Verma also shared her experience in Sri Lanka alongside Dharmesh. In a related post, she expressed, “Bohoma Sthuthi Srilanka, you guys have my heart. So beyond grateful for all the love! Inspired and charged for the Next… can’t wait to share the videos with you guys what hype what vibe… keep the dancing spirit high.”

Dhanashree specifically mentioned Dharmesh in her post, saying, “It’s always a blessing to be around the best @dharmesh0011,” and thanked the International Dance Works Sri Lanka and Thilina Prathapasingha for “inviting and doing so much for the Sri Lankan dance community.”

Beyond his dance workshops, Dharmesh has been expanding his horizons in the entertainment industry. Recently, he appeared in a project titled “Sanduk” (meaning “box” or “chest” in Hindi), which is currently streaming on the Waves OTT platform. The dancer has also appeared at sporting events, with a recent post mentioning his presence at the BDCL Tournament (Bollywood Dance Cricket League), described as “a celebration where dancers trade their beats for boundaries.”

For those uninitiated, Dharmesh Yelande, often affectionately called “D Sir” or “Dharmesh Sir” by his fans and students, rose to prominence through his participation in dance reality shows in India. He began his journey to fame in the dance reality show “Boogie Woogie.” However, his breakthrough came when he was a contestant on “Dance India Dance Season 2,” where he finished as the second runner-up. His unique dance style, incredible technical skills, and humble personality quickly made him a fan favorite, especially with his choreography, acting, and reality-show judging stints.

Dharmesh’s visit to Sri Lanka represents his ongoing efforts to connect with dance communities beyond India. As a respected figure in the dance world, his workshops and appearances provide valuable opportunities for dancers in neighboring countries to learn from his expertise and experience.

The warm reception Dharmesh received in Sri Lanka, as evidenced by his grateful acknowledgment, speaks to his popularity and influence that extends well beyond Indian borders. As he continues to expand his reach, his influence on dance communities across South Asia only grows stronger.
