In a recent Instagram post, filmmaker Karan Johar shared insights about his forthcoming film, “Akaal,” during a discussion with singer and actor Gippy Grewal. The interview was released on the Dharma Productions YouTube channel, where Johar emphasized the significance of the film, which is set to premiere on 10 April, 2025, in both Punjabi and Hindi languages.
Notably, the film is produced in collaboration with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, marking the studio’s inaugural venture into Punjabi cinema. Johar expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “Here’s to a start of a great partnership and hope we continue to meet where cinema begins.”
“Akaal” is the latest project from Karan Johar under his banner Dharma Productions. This new venture is expected to integrate cultural themes with contemporary filmmaking. The movie features an ensemble cast, including Gurpreet Ghuggi, Nimrat Khaira, Prince Kanwaljit Singh, and Nikitin Dheer. The music for the film is composed by the acclaimed trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
