Choreographers Piyush Bhagat and Shazia Samji have revealed their latest work – a disco-themed dance number for the upcoming Netflix film ‘Jewel Thief’. In a recent Instagram post, the choreography duo shared their excitement about creating a retro-inspired track for director Siddharth Anand’s new project.
The Instagram post shows them posing with what appears to be the film’s cast members. The choreographers expressed their gratitude in the caption, writing: “Had to Choreograph a Disco fever song coming from the one n only @s1danand god has been kind amazing love from you guys to us and to all the cast.”
The post specifically tagged several key cast members including Saif Ali Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Nikita Sharma, and Kunal Kapoor, suggesting they feature prominently in the dance sequence. The choreographers also acknowledged fans’ reaction to the song, adding, “we all are watching your reels keep them coming!!” – indicating the track has already gained popularity with viewers creating their own dance videos.
The song, titled “Jaadu,” was previously teased on Netflix India’s social media as the first track released from the film’s soundtrack. Earlier promotional posts described it as “addictive” with the tagline “Can’t stop, won’t stop listening to #Jaadu!” The track features vocals by Raghav Chaitanya with lyrics by Kumaar, and was composed by OAFF and Savera.
Set to premiere on April 25, 2025, exclusively on Netflix, ‘Jewel Thief’ is being promoted as a high-stakes heist thriller. Previous promotional materials have described the film with taglines such as “Danger. Deception. Desire. And a diamond that’s worth everything” and “The art of the perfect heist comes with a dangerous price.”
The film boasts an ensemble cast featuring Saif Ali Khan in the lead role, alongside Jaideep Ahlawat, Nikita Sharma, Kunal Kapoor, and veteran actor Kulbhushan Kharbanda. Other cast members include Gagan Arora and Sumit Gulati.
Siddharth Anand, known for directing high-octane action films, serves as the creative force behind ‘Jewel Thief’. He’s working alongside his wife Mamta Anand and director Kookie Gulati on this project. The film is produced by Marflix Pictures in association with T-Series.
Anand has built a reputation in Bollywood for his stylish filmmaking approach. His Wikipedia page notes previous directorial successes including ‘Pathaan’ (2023) starring Shah Rukh Khan, which became one of the highest-grossing Indian films ever, and ‘Fighter’ (2024) with Hrithik Roshan. His other notable works include ‘War’ (2019), ‘Bang Bang!’ (2014), and ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ (2008).
The choice of a disco-themed song aligns with a recent trend in Bollywood of reviving retro music styles for contemporary films. The choreographers tagged various creative contributors in their post, including music producers OAFF and Savera, as well as team members Nandika Diwedi, Niyati Raval, Pravin Shinde, Nihar Dongre, and Ach Prash.
Based on promotional materials, ‘Jewel Thief’ combines elements of danger, romance, and high-stakes theft centered around a valuable diamond. The film’s aesthetics appear to blend classic heist thriller elements with contemporary styling – the disco number choreographed by Piyush and Shazia likely providing a stylish interlude within the narrative.
The film joins Netflix’s growing catalog of Indian original productions and arrives at a time when streaming platforms are increasingly investing in star-studded Hindi cinema projects.
Fans can watch ‘Jewel Thief’ when it premieres on Netflix on April 25, with the “Jaadu” song already available across music streaming platforms.
