Actor Rajniesh Duggall has announced his participation in the upcoming film ‘Gyanvapi Files,’ a project based on the controversial 2022 murder of Kanhaiya Lal, a tailor from Udaipur, Rajasthan. The actor shared the news through his Instagram account, expressing enthusiasm about joining the production.
In his Instagram post, Duggal shared a video with the caption, “GYANVAPI FILES.. based on the truth behind kanhaiya lal tailors murder. “Thank you Raj C for casting me in this film… elated to be a part of the team.” The movie is scheduled for release in June 2025.
The Kanhaiya Lal Case
For those unfamiliar with the case, Kanhaiya Lal was a tailor in Udaipur who was brutally murdered in June 2022. The killing sparked nationwide outrage. Two men entered Lal’s shop posing as customers before attacking him. The assailants later posted videos online claiming responsibility for the murder, allegedly in response to Lal’s social media posts supporting controversial remarks.
