In a heartfelt announcement, music composer A.R. Rahman revealed a new cultural project aimed at celebrating and preserving the Tamil language through immersive and digital storytelling. Led by the ARR Immersive Entertainment Team, the initiative seeks to showcase Tamil’s literary richness in contemporary formats that resonate with younger generations.
In an Instagram post written in Tamil, Rahman emphasized the global significance of the language, calling it one of the strongest and most evolving languages in the world. He acknowledged the role of Tamil Sangams (ancient literary assemblies) in nurturing the language over centuries and underscored the responsibility to pass this heritage on meaningfully.
The project will present Tamil literature as visual charts and other innovative digital experiences, with the long-term vision of possibly establishing a dedicated space or building that serves as a monument to Tamil pride.
