Smriti Irani, former Union Minister and actress, recently shared a glimpse of her enlightening trip to Boston. Her aim may have been intellectual pursuits, but she felt enriched with spiritual experiences. In her latest Instagram post, Irani revealed how her journey across continents led to unexpected discoveries and answers.
The post captures Irani’s reflective mood as she writes, “From celebrating life at the feet of Sri Krishna to speaking in the hallowed halls of Harvard… my time in Boston just whizzed past.” The accompanying video clip shows Irani at what appears to be the ISKCON temple in Boston and HKS campus halls.
In the post, Irani particularly highlighted her interactions with Swamis at ISKCON Boston, noting that these conversations left lasting impressions on her. In a thoughtful observation, she mentioned, “It’s as though I travelled half way across the world to find answers that alluded me at home,” concluding with “indeed God works in mysterious ways.”
This visit to Boston appears to be part of a larger journey that Irani had hinted at in an earlier Instagram post where she mentioned she was “Off to engage on alternative horizons touched by knowledge old and new.” Before her Boston trip, Irani had shared glimpses of her brief visit to New York, where she spent 24 hours making “a lifetime of memories.” When in New York, she meet with friends from Southeast Asia at the United Nations and experienced the city’s culinary delights. Irani also recently posted about meeting Bill Gates, praising him for embodying “empathy, inclusivity with grace; ever so humble and humane.”
While Irani didn’t elaborate on the nature of her engagement at Harvard University, her post confirms she was invited to speak at the prestigious institution. This adds another notable achievement to her diverse career that has spanned television, politics, and public service.
On the spiritual side, Irani’s interest has been evident in her social media activity recently. Just before her Boston trip, she had shared a post celebrating Chaitra Navratri, highlighting her connection to Hindu traditions and practices. Her visit to ISKCON Boston aligns with her previous expressions of faith.
Her current trip, combining intellectual and spiritual pursuits, reflects the multifaceted nature of her interests and engagements, as she continues to evolve in her public life while maintaining connections to her spiritual roots.
