The iconic Bollywood comedy ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ is making its way back to the big screen after 31 years, with a nationwide re-release scheduled for April 25, 2025. The official Instagram handle of ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ announced the theatrical comeback of this cult classic, inviting fans to book their tickets now.
“Yeh-Woh aur Woh-Yeh ke chakkar mein agar aapka sir bhi chakra gaya hai, then that’s your sign to book tickets now and clear this confusion on 25th April, in cinemas,” reads the Instagram post . The announcement is accompanied by promotional artwork featuring the film’s iconic characters and their memorable dialogue.
The film, which originally released in 1994, has grown from a box office underperformer to one of Indian cinema’s most beloved comedies. Despite its initial commercial failure, ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ gained a massive cult following over the years through television reruns, memes, and quotable dialogues that have become part of pop culture.
‘Andaz Apna Apna’ features an ensemble cast led by Aamir Khan and Salman Khan in the lead roles, with Raveena Tandon and Karisma Kapoor as the female leads. The film also stars Paresh Rawal in a dual role, along with Shakti Kapoor, Mehmood, Jagdeep, Deven Verma, Viju Khote, and Tiku Talsania in supporting roles.
Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, the film tells the story of two slackers, Amar and Prem, who compete to win the heart of an heiress, only to find themselves entangled in a web of mistaken identities and comical situations. The film’s quotable dialogues and memorable characters, particularly Shakti Kapoor’s Crime Master Gogo, have remained fresh in public memory for over three decades.
The original production house of the film, ‘Tips Industries,’ has also launched a comprehensive promotional campaign for the re-release, including remixed versions of the film’s songs. Recently, they released a remix of ‘Crime Master Gogo,’ featuring the iconic villain character originally played by Shakti Kapoor. The song is available on Tips’ official YouTube channel.
For fans who have grown up quoting the film’s dialogues and recreating its iconic scenes, this re-release offers an opportunity to experience the magic on the big screen, possibly for the first time for younger admirers who know the film only through digital platforms or television.
