Excel Entertainment has announced that their latest film production, “Ground Zero,” is now playing in theatres nationwide. The announcement was made through the production company’s official Instagram account, inviting moviegoers to book their tickets for this action thriller.

A Border Security Force Story

The film, which features Emraan Hashmi in a leading role, centers around a brave Border Security Force (BSF) officer leading a hunt for an enemy that no one had seen. The Instagram post promoting the theatrical release shows what appears to be promotional artwork for the film, likely featuring key characters or scenes from the movie.

According to previous promotional posts from Excel Entertainment, “Ground Zero” follows the journey of a BSF officer on a dangerous mission. One earlier post described the film as “A hunt led by a brave BSF officer for an enemy no one had seen,” highlighting the thriller’s premise of tracking an unseen threat.

The Stellar Cast And Crew

The film stars Emraan Hashmi alongside a talented ensemble cast including Sai Tamhankar, Zoya Hussain, Deepak Paramesh, Lalit Prabhakar, Rocky Raina, and Tejas Deoskar. The project is backed by industry veterans Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar through their production banner Excel Entertainment, which has been behind several critically acclaimed films since its establishment in 1999.

Excel Entertainment, co-founded by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, has established itself as a significant production house in Indian cinema. Their filmography includes hits like “Dil Chahta Hai,” “Rock On!!,” “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara,” and the “Don” series starring Shah Rukh Khan. The company has also ventured into web series production with shows like “Made in Heaven” and “Mirzapur.”

The Kashmir Connection

The film appears to have significant connections to Kashmir, as revealed through the production’s recent activities. Just days before the theatrical release, the “Ground Zero” team held a premiere in Srinagar, Kashmir. Photos shared on Excel Entertainment’s Instagram show the cast and crew at various locations in Kashmir during promotional events.

One post captioned “An evening to remember” documented the film’s premiere in Srinagar, featuring images of the team including Emraan Hashmi, Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, and others at the event. Another post showed the team exploring Srinagar with the caption “Team Ground Zero spotted in Srinagar, Kashmir.”

Music And Soundtrack

The film’s musical score has also received attention, with Excel Entertainment releasing a jukebox of the soundtrack prior to the film’s release. The “Ground Zero” album features contributions from notable singers and composers including Jubin Nautiyal, Afsana Khan, Tanishk Bagchi, Sonu Nigam, and Vishal Mishra, among others.

The music appears to be an integral part of the storytelling, with the production house inviting fans to “Tune into the world of #GroundZero” through their promotional material.

The BSF Tribute

The film prominently pays tribute to the Border Security Force of India, with one promotional post explicitly stating “A salute to the spirit of the BSF.” The official BSF India account has been tagged in the promotional material, suggesting possible collaboration or endorsement from the force.

Previous promotional material used the tagline “Ab Prahaar Hoga” (Now the strike will happen), hinting at the action-oriented nature of the storyline. Another teaser described the premise as “A faceless enemy, a fearless hero,” further emphasizing the thriller elements of the narrative.

Production Partnerships

Beyond Excel Entertainment, the film is a collaborative effort involving several production entities. The Instagram tags reveal partnerships with Dreamz Kraft Entertainment and Talisman Films, with AA Films handling distribution and Zee Music Company managing the music rights.

The film will be released on April 25th, 2025, following an extensive promotional campaign that included teasers, music releases, and special screenings in Kashmir.

With its focus on border security themes and a story rooted in real operational challenges faced by forces at India’s borders, “Ground Zero” aims to combine entertainment with a tribute to the dedication and bravery of India’s security personnel. Moviegoers interested in the film can now book tickets at theatres across the country.
